This Labor Day weekend signaled the start of the college football season, which as many of you know makes this little lady happy. Last Thursday Spurrier got the season underway as the new coach of South Carolina and this Thursday the NFL kicks off the start of the regular season. For the next four months and a few weeks people everywhere will spend their weekends sitting in front of the television watching a sport that is uniquely American.

On Saturday something else also started, the Fall season of Lawrence youth sports and so finally I got to get back out and do some reporting. There was a little league football tournament in town and I finally got a chance to experience what my weekends are going to be like, spending both days out at the sports complex. It was so cute seeing little boys all padded up hitting each other, actually quite hard at times. I think it is going to be a fun getting to write about these kids, but it really makes me want to play sports.

It was really great to get to go the KU game on Saturday and something I really didn't think I would have been doing-since for the longest time thought I wouldn't be in Lawrence now. As I was at the game baking in the sun (Gosh it was so hot) I think I finally realized that I am ok with being here and it is possible that I can start the next part of my life without moving from Lawrence.

So I have started doing party pics for lawrence.com. Don't know how long I will do it but for now I can make a little extra money taking pictures of drunken people. Also look for some more of my 'Game' articles in the coming week.
